From the President
Hello fellow NCLA members and welcome to 2014. This is my first letter as the new president of the association, so I wanted to take the time to introduce myself. But before I can do that I want my first official act as your incoming president to be to thank our outgoing president, Ralph Fuller for the great leadership he has provided over the last four years. Now for some background on me…. I am Paul Atkinson and I was elected president of the Association last November. I have been a locksmith for over 30 years. I am employed by Marshall’s Locksmith Service in Raleigh, NC. I have been an active member for more than 25 years, served on the board and have also served as president in the past.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and I wish everyone a New Year that is filled with peace, prosperity and good health. As with each new year we all make resolutions and I hope some of yours are the same as mine …I hope everyone continues to take part in making our association the best it can be. I resolve to provide a high quality education program for our locksmiths. Education is the cornerstone of being a successful locksmith, it is vital in retaining your NC locksmith license and it is paramount to all of us moving to the top in this ever changing industry. I want the association to continue providing our locksmiths the best education possible which will require that we make some changes to our program. I would like to grow our membership. We need to reach out to all the locksmiths and encourage them to join. All of this can be accomplished with the assistance of the board and our members. The association is here to support its members that is why it is so important for you to give your input and attend our business meetings.
There are still a few tickets left for the sidewinder machine raffle. Make sure to purchase your ticket so you will have a chance to win. Membership dues are due. If you need to pay by check please mail to Debbie by February 10th or you can pay by credit card up to February 18th. Make sure to pay in time for Debbie to process them so you will not have to stand in line to pay dues.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting and trade show February 21st-23rd at our new location Embassy Suites Concord, NC. Remember to save up your orders to get additional discounts at the show and support our distributors. Thank you for all your support. If you need to reach me feel free to email email@example.com.
