From the President
OUTSTANDING! For those who missed it the Trade Show was another fantastic event. Everyone needs to thank Jackie Bright for getting all the vendors here and all her work in putting together another excellent show. Also, we all need to remember Debbie Derruisseaux and others behind the scene for all their hard work.
Mike Reaves and Roy Young did a great job on setting up classes. Just some of the classes you missed were Lishi 2 in 1, access control and Mul-T-Lock. Everyone had a great time.
Everyone needs to remember to preregister for class, and if you haven’t paid your dues, do so by calling Debbie at 910-237-0105 (prior to April 15). This will prevent you from having to wait in the registration line. We are looking at the possibility of paying your dues online before next year Trade Show to speed up the registration procedures.
Remember to buy your tickets for the Matrix S machine that will be raffled at this business meeting. Tickets are $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. Tickets can be bought now by calling Susan at 910-740-7105, or can be bought from the ladies auxiliary table prior to the business meeting.
We are also raffling off a RW4 Plus. Again tickets will be $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. Again, tickets can be purchased now by calling Susan at 910-740-7105, or at the ladies auxiliary table at the meeting. Drawing will be at the August meeting.
JMA has generously donated a cloner for the association to raffle. The cloner will be raffled in the near future. Date of drawing will be announced later. Tickets will go on sale after the May meeting.
For those that did not attend the last business meeting, the constitution change to allow children under the age of 12 to become members (on a case by case basis) was approved by those in attendance. That brings up the point of attendance at the business meeting. Attendance at the last meeting was extremely poor. Remember it is your association and everyone should make an effort to attend and know what’s happening in your association. Remember you may win a door prize if you attend.
Please make your reservations as soon as possible to ensure we meet our sleeping room block for the meeting. When we fall short of our quota it costs your association extra money to hold the meeting.
We need some members to volunteer to be instructors. If you feel uncomfortable getting in front of a class the first time; one of the current instructors would gladly help you. We also need fresh ideas for classes, let myself, Mike or Roy know if you have an idea for a class.
Remember, you must have your registration paper work to attend class. No receipt, you will be asked to leave and go to registration. Also please ensure you print your name (legible) on the class roster, and any designation you want after your name (CRL, CML, etc). This will help the volunteers doing the certificates make sure they get your name correctly and whatever designation you want added.
I hope to see a lot of you at the May meeting in Cary. Be safe during your travels and should you need to contact with me, contact me by email: locksafeman@yahoo.com and I will respond in the evening after work. If you have an emergency you may call me at 252-422-4292 (cell).
