| KABA SAFE DEPOSIT LOCK CLASS 8 Hours |
|
This hands-on class introduces you to the mechanical safe locks and safety deposit locks that are manufactured by KABA. Every student will learn the proper way to install the 673 Series Safe Lock and we will install one on his or her own mount. Each student will assemble a 57 series safe deposit box lock and a 54 series changeable safe deposit box lock. Emphasis will be placed on installation and proper function of these safe locks and safe deposit locks. The student will keep the cut-away safe lock display and safe deposit locks used in the class.
Prerequisites: Basic working knowledge of safes and safety deposit locks.

| DOMESTIC AUTOMOTIVE LOCKS 4 Hours |
|
This class will be a discussion on the mechanical locking systems used on domestic vehicles yesterday and today. We will cover tumbler arrangements, the key blanks and how both have evolved over the years, how to generate the keys, plus the various problems to expect with different type locks and how to overcome those problems.

This class will cover opening techniques and tools from Steck Manufacturing for 2008 and 2009. Steck has some new design tools for the new cars that will be of interest to the Locksmiths.

| CCTV DIGITAL RECORDERS 3 Hours |
|
Digital video Recorders (DVR’s) David Raudabaugh the presenter of CCTV Basic returns to provide an in depth understanding of digital video recorders and the capabilities they provide today. This class will provide knowledge to all levels of students who attend, but is intended to provide the understanding required to sort through the maze of products and terms associated with the 500+ number of DVR manufactures and their 1000’s of advertisements.
Students will leave the class capable of understanding and quoting profitable CCTV systems that include Digital Recording, Remote Video Transmission, Intelligent Video (Video Analytics) including Facial Recognition and Object Detection.

If you are an Apprentice Locksmith wanting to test for your North Carolina Locksmith License, then this is the place to take the test. You will be given ample time to test your skills and knowledge. | CHRYSLER AND FORD 8 CUT SERVICE 4 Hours |
|
In this class we are going to first talk about the symptoms and problems associated with these locks, door and ignitions, since 96 and 98. Do you know when to replace them and why it may be less expensive to just replace a cylinder and why? What about the infamous Ford Focus ignitions? We then are going to have some practical hands on experience with them. If you have a lock that you have pulled out and replaced, please bring it with you as well as a pinning kit. Also bring some small hand tools to include small screwdrivers and a scratch awl. Come prepared to learn from an Automotive Master Technician.

| BASIC COMBINATION LOCK SERVICING 101 4 Hours |

This class is mandatory for any NCLA Apprentice Member. This is a hands-on class. This class will cover the glossary terms. Students will learn the proper changing procedures by physically doing the work. We will cover the most common problems you will come across in the field. Trouble shooting lockout problems and more.
Students need to bring the following tools to class. Tru-Arc Pliers, Standard Screwdriver, #2 Phillips Screwdriver, Small Hammer, Side Cutting Pliers.

| DOOR CLOSER SURVEYING AND PROPOSALS 3 Hours |
|
This class will cover inspection and survey for actual repair several doors at the hotel facility. Identification manual included, will be used to diagnose problems with these doors, compile parts list and provide cost repair estimate. Help with projecting labor costs and suggesting alternative repairs.

In this class we are going to talk about Key Codes and what they can mean to the locksmith. Can a key code cut my time on a particular job? Where do I get key codes from? Now how can I convert the code to the actual biting and correct key blank, if I do not already know that? What code programs are available to me and what experience have others had with certain versions?

| REVERSE ENGINEERING OF SFIC 3 Hours |
|
This applies to the A-2 and A-4 SFIC systems.
1. A brief history of the interchangeable cores.
2. The student will learn the basis calculation of the small format interchangeable core.
3. The student will learn the three methods of reverse engineering for the A-2 and A-4 system. The student will use the Lab Annex to retrieve the pin stack from cores.
4. The student will also use the towel method to retrieve the pin stacks.
5. The student will use a caliper to measure the pins.
The students will receive written instructions for reverse engineering for the A-2 and A-4 systems.
Students need to bring a digital caliper, and an ejection pin to class.
